Avalonna Posted January 24, 2013 Report Share Posted January 24, 2013 Yay! I am VERY eager to try barbells, but scared to just waltz into the gym and start trying to figure it out on my own. I don't even know how to attach the plates to the bar. I am patiently waiting for a trainer I know to offer a beginning barbell seminar - it's supposedly in the works, but who knows when he will actually get around to it. Right now I do deadlifts with the heaviest weights I have at home: 25-lb and 35-lb kettlebells. The weight is uneven, but it's the only way I can get to 60 pounds. Still, that's not nearly enough weight.
