Even breaks were "programmed" into my pace instead of pushing till I could go no more and resting till I could collect myself, proof that my mental game and pacing have improved. I think the rowing classes are largely to blame for that, as well as the technique that had me blazing calories on the rower without burning too much of my own gas and catching a breath instead. After the 4th or so round I had to break my knee raises to 4+4 due to failing grip strength, also catching a short breath between the 5+5 DB reps, but it was all part of the plan;short,planned breaks and immediatly back on the attack. Spent by the end, but having kept a constant pace through the entire 20 minutes, I don't think there's anything that could have gone any better. Pretty disappointed, as I got like 6-8 no reps on the squats and the bar came up flying, I didn't even need to squat. Probably had more in the tank than I thought and certainly could have cleaned more weight. DarK_RaideR Posted March 10, 2018 Author Report Share Posted March 10, 2018 Friday 9 March Crossfit Games Open 18.3 (Scaled) 2 rounds for time with a 14' time cap 100 Single Unders 20 Overhead Squats (20kg) 100 Single Unders 12 Pull ups 100 Single Unders 20 One-arm Dumbbell Snatches (17,5kg) 100 Single Unders 12 Pull ups Score: 616 reps, which is 1 full round, one set of SUs, the OHS and 32 SUs after that. Comments: No grip/arm/shoulder issues, which probably means I was ok on the technical side and not overstressing the same body part. Did real bad on the stamina/breath/heart rate front though, got gassed out too soon with my diaphragm stuck and feeling knife stabs between my ribs which slowed me down and forced me to take unnecessary breaks. Also, my quads just refused to jump any rope after each set of OHS. Might re-test on Monday, not that sure yet as I gave it all I had anyway and I'm not so sure how much better my body could perform the second time round. 6 Quote Lvl 65 Multitasker Link to comment

Frankly, I don't know that I would have made it through the pull ups; I probably would need some kind of inverted row, and even then...
