You start with doing the day 1 pose on the first day, then the day 2 pose + the day 1 pose on the second day, then the day 3 + day 2 + day 1 pose on the third day -- just like the song. They do not have to be directly connected, you can flow through whatever poses you like between each pose as long as you get through them in sequential order eventually. For ones with an option, you can choose between any of the options and change it up between days if you like. Feel free to modify any of the poses as well! Your pigeon can take off and fly if you like. Yes, in flying crow you rest say your right knee on the right elbow. In flying pigeon you have an additional point of contact - so you rest your right ankle on the left elbow (as well as the right knee on the right elbow). A lot of yoga teachers and yoga programs will use them interchangeably, both meaning the flying pigeon move with the ankle supported on the opposite arm. Heck, I even technically have it "wrong" in my tutorial, since I'm doing flying pigeon, but call it flying crow. ;P Here on NF, we use the terms as Hatter described above. Mad Hatter Posted December 15, 2016 Report Share Posted December 15, 2016 Yeah good point, it's kind of like crow and crane, they are also very frequently interchanged. But they are different postures, both looking at their sanskrit names and the mechanics, even if it can be easy to get the names confused. Too many birds in yoga. So if you ever take a class or look at a tutorial it's definitely a good idea to double check what the teacher is actually doing. 1 Quote Link to comment

She used some bolsters to raise her head. I put some yoga blocks under my head, which enabled me to kick into the headstand-yay! Then I tried to push from a headstand into a handstand. Failed a few times. Tried again, and made it, but fell right away. A few attempts later ,and I was actually able to hold the handstand. raptron Posted December 20, 2016 Author Report Share Posted December 20, 2016 Yaaaa crow to press drill thing~ Surprisingly killer on the hip flexors and quads, actually. Maybe I'm over-recruiting them? I also noticed in my videos that as soon as I tried to lift my toes off my wrists, I lost all tension in the hip/butt/core, haha. I also was able to press from headstands into forearm stand really easily (!) which is already an improvement over last month when I was playing with them. Sage II into figure 8 happened on both sides but my camera was tilted too high up so you could only see my shoulders and that does not make for a very riveting video. Tried some handstands down into crow for giggles and wound up with some really nice piked straddled holds while trying to transition down. I also found that if I did something in crow right before I tried a handstand hold, the handstand went really well and I was 100x more likely to actually be pressing into my fingers instead of trying to find my balance further up in my body. I've noticed this too! Ok, not that the handstand goes reeeally well, but better. For me I think it's because I use my core a lot more when moving in crow, something I struggle with in handstands. I was planning on going just to a regular elbow lever but my weight was too far shifted to the other side so I just went with the one-armed attempts.
