I'm sure all the martial artists saw today and thought 'YES!'

 

Done with EC.

Current Big Fat Hairy Goals:  Hip to Waist Ratio down to 88%.  Capable of 50 pushups, 100 situps, 20 pull-ups in one massive superset.  Able to do a bodyweight bench press.  Run 10K 1/week for 1 month.  Earn 2nd Degree Black Belt.

 

Why?  Because I want to model the kind of health and strength that I want my girls to have when they grow up.

Done with EC. Won't be able to update the spreadsheet until I'm home again next week so I'm just keeping score on my own until then. 

 

Is this a common thing in martial arts? We do a sort of squat thing as a warmup stretch in Aikido, but we don't really hold or use sumo squats.

Done with EC. I seem to remember doing a similar stance when I did martial arts (T'ang sou dao)

We use it a lot in karate, but call it shiko dachi.

How is the policy here? I would like to do it again with the goal of getting the EC is that permitted or is it one try and that's it? 

You can try as many times as you wish on the day of the dare, so feel free to have another crack at it until you get that sweet sweet EC.

Yeah - woke up with one particular sore muscle in my shoulders from those angels.

 

Crunches done with EC.

 

One thing that may not have been clear in the rules - you have to do the Daily Dare on the day it shows up - no working backwards to fill in days.  It's one of the things I enjoy about this challenge - find 5 minutes a day to do something you've never done before (or have done before, but in more quantity that you've ever done before.)

Crunches done; no EC because my abs are rubbish.

 

One day I will get EC on an ab related challenge!
