I'm game.  What did you have in mind?

There are several options I had in mind, all aimed at improving quality of life

 

1. commit to one week of meditation, just to see how it affects you

2. mindful eating- really making sure you only focus on what you are eating, no distractions, just you an your food, taking the time to notice tastes and textures and seeing how this affects your eating habits

3. mindful observation- look at a plant or an organism (bug/bird/whatever) and really notice it as though for the first time, see how this brings you into the present. For the challenge maybe one moment per day?

4. Listen to music mindfully- close your eyes, put on headphones and play a new piece of music, emptying your mind, and getting swept up in the sound

5. Game of fives- notice five things in your day that usually go unappreciated. Then report back here

 

I can definitely find more if these don't appeal to anyone!

I know we started the PvP a bit late so there are only 5 weeks of challenges but would anyone be interested in a bonus week 6 (I guess during the break between challenges) for a concious-ness/mindfulness centered goal? 

 

(of course I would ask that  :tongue:)

How is the cooking pvp going to work? I ask because I am about to do my meal plan for next week (yes, I am that Type A....)

 

Also, I only eat once a day, will this challenge work with intermittent fasting?

If it's not siesta or fiesta, I'm not interested.

Every time you cook something you didn't make before you get a point. Even if you eat only once a day you can still score 7 points.

Every time you cook something you didn't make before you get a point. Even if you eat only once a day you can still score 7 points.

 

Does that mean I am capped at 7 points though, where others can earn 21 for 3x meals a day?

If it's not siesta or fiesta, I'm not interested.

Good point. 

Maybe add a max of one point a day? Just cook something new once each day to earn a point. Two new recipes in one day still one point?

Maybe add a max of one point a day? Just cook something new once each day to earn a point. Two new recipes in one day still one point?

 

it could be percentage wise? That might be a bit difficult to work out though.

I think this would probably work best.

Or just in moderation!

 

There are some things I am just not capable of doing in moderation.  Baked breakfast goods is probably one of them.  It's better if i don't even start...

It's ok if we tie because we can split the honours and then just beat them harder in the remaining challenges.
