shaar
Hey y'all! ( Sorry, I'm Southern. ) Shaaraway here as a super-newbie who's finally decided to take the plunge and start taking care of myself for serious. A little bit of history - I've always been very athletic and super-fit. I trained heavily in martial arts from age 8 to 21 but once I turned into an "adult" (hack cough) my fitness regime slowly but surely suffered. Over the past few years I've become more sedentary than I would like (hooray desk job), and that combined with my adoration of craft beer (and mexican food) has made me a little chubbier than I'd like. Not that I haven't tried! I guess I'm what you could call a "binge exerciser" - I'll be super into getting fit for a couple of weeks, then suddenly just ... fall off the wagon. My main problem is my own motivation, because it'll suddenly disappear at the blink of an eye, and well, that's the end of that. I'm here for accountability and a motivated game plan, and what better place to do it than with a group of fellow nerds?! I don't have a massive hurdle in front of me. I'm 5'3" and about 135, mostly in my hips and stomach. I really need to introduce consistent challenging exercise into my routine as a starting point, and I know once I do that, I'll be on my way. I just have to ... you know, do it. Other goals include: - Regiment my diet more. During the work week I'm on point (Sunday meal prep for weeklong lunches, meal replacement shake for breakfast, etc.) but when the weekend comes I yo-yo over to beer and tacos and maybe just another slice of pizza. No. NO. - Start & complete the next upcoming 6 week challenge. I already have ideas on what I want to accomplish and I'm really excited about it! - STAY ACCOUNTABLE. This is so big. I'm hoping my (soon to come) battle log will help loads with this. And for a little more about my nerd-side - I've been a nerd since 1986, at the tender age of 6, when I got my first NES and it's just snowballed from there. I love old RPG's and MMO's best, and am currently bumbling my way through Skyrim and trying to ignore the little itch to resubscribe to WOW. I love things like asian horror films and bad Korean dramas and reading 5 books in a weekend. I cosplayed for about 7 years back in the late 90's/early 2000's and, while not as rabid as I used to be, still occasionally watch some anime. (Sailor Moon Crystal WHAT) I also love love love soccer, but I think it's the least nerdy of my hobbies. OKAY! Off I go to start being awesome and making a better Shaaraway every day~ 4 Quote Tell me, if you had the strength to take another step, could you do it? Level ?? aeshnidae
Hi, Shaaraway! Sounds like we're walking a pretty similar path. I'm also 5'3", 135 lbs, former athlete, and good at eating well during the week (being chained to a desk helps). Oh and I love craft beer and football (and soccer, which I used to play). Best of luck to you! I'll check out your battle log. 1 Quote Aeshnidae, The Girl with the Dragonfly TattooHuman RangerLevel 4 | STR 9 | DEX 8 | STA 5 | CON 5 | WIS 8 | CHA 3 Aeshnidae Flips the Bird at Being Sick | Battle Log | Skull Crushers IIIIntro Post | MFP | 2nd Challenge "Fire bad, tree pretty.""Nothing but the rain..." Svella
Hello and welcome I must say that I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL about hips.... mine are so big it's just ridiculous. (But I'm brazilian so our ideas of big might be a lot different lol) If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be to start slow, so you can take your time to get used to the changes in your life. It you do everything at once, it can be overwhelming. I first enrolled at the gym and got used to it, then I started dieting and now I'm even counting calories and not eating sweets and bread Our goals are similar, so I'll follow your battlelog and I hope we can support each other. Good luck 2 Quote Body fat: 25%Weight: 62 kg>61.4 kg>61 kg>60.1 kgHeight: 165cmCholesterol: 302 mg/dl > 187 mg/dl 1st 6 week challenge â–ˆ Battle Log â–ˆ 2nd 6 week challenge Link to comment
Big_Show
Hi!I've found that motivation and accountability can go hand in hand - when you just can't be bothered to train, the thought of explaining to someone else why you didn't can be enough to spur you on... 1 Quote Big Show: Human Swift Hunter Respawning.
