A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Hello fellow Rebels!

 

I'm a full time mum of 2, full time nerd, full time architect of awesome!  Doesn't leave me much time for anything else...  Recently I have started to go to the gym 3-5 times a week.  Here's the problem:

 

  • I have an autoimmune disorder that involves my THYROID and my ability to ingest GLUTEN
  • Thyroid problem = VERY DIFFICULT TO LOSE WEIGHT = my body hates me
  • I can't have gluten, or nuts...  plus some other funky food allergies that makes eating a challenge --> I have NO IDEA what to eat on a day to day basis

I'm hoping to one day be able to convince my husband to let me join the "Academy" here as I think it would help me figure out what to eat etc.  Clearly what I'm doing right now is not working.

 

I used to be a personal trainer, but we were unable to give nutrition advice as we were not qualified to do so.  Also, when it comes to nutrition, I haven't got that figured out at all.  What works for most, doesn't work for me.  I've tried modifying plans like Weight Watchers to work with my gluten free lifestyle and it got me exactly nowhere.

 

I'm really desperate.  I want my Princess Leia body back!  My goal is to be able to wear an iron bikini to ComiCon next year.

Sounds like Hashimoto's. Spezzy has the same problem. Check out these links, they might be helpful. In the second one, she discusses working around hashimoto's and some of the same food avoidance you mentioned.
