DerbyTank
hello! I hurt my knee playing roller derby and I'm trying to get back on it, its been a month since I've last done any exercise and I want to know if anyone has any tips on what I can do? My knee is still giving me a bit of trouble, most of the time its fine but sometimes I am getting a pain in the back of my knee that I can only really describe a pulling pain or a really sharp pain around the bottom of my knee cap. Planning on going to the physio during the week to get this looked at. I originally injured it in the middle of July at a roller derby tournament, in the first game of the Mens European cup, sadly I missed the rest of the tournament as my team went on to get silver, It was still giving me a lot of trouble at the start of August but I decided to play through it as we had a tour of America that was already paid for and I wasn't going to miss playing New York, Mass and the Mohawk valley cup. It all went very well but now I need to get this sorted so I've taken time off. As I said I'm still getting some random pains every now and then but I really want to get back some fitness so any tips or suggestions would be welcome Quote Link to comment
TheGreyJedi-Ranger
Are there certain situations that cause the pulling/pain feeling? That usually would indicate the problem. Definitely talk to a doctor before using the muscles a lot. Figure out the specifics of what hurts it so that they can figure out what's up, and then get their okay to start working out again. DerbyTank
there wasn't any reason that I could see, it just randomly started hurting to walk. it hasn't for a week or two now so I'm gonna rest it for another week before trying it out at the gym Quote Link to comment
TheGreyJedi-Ranger
Try being gentle on your knee with working out at first? Maybe swim or something?
