I have no desire to do work. I have two work things to be done (one of which I WILL finish in the next hour before I leave)  and the ever present paper. And I just don't wanna. 

 

Plus roommate's friend is crashing at our place so I don't even get to sulk alone. Womp. Maybe I'll stop at sbux on the way home and console myself with an overpriced latte.

Yeah no. No sbux. It's balls fucking cold out and freezing rain and I'm taking Lyft instead of waiting 25 minutes for the bus. So no latte for Flea. Another downside is holy shit my driver has serious b.o.  T_T

How not to write a paper: come home early from work. Spend 4 hours procrastinating because anxiety. Continue searching for and downloading more articles than you'll ever use because at least it's something. Panic while reviewing instructions because you thought it was 10-12 but this says 12-15 but oh wait that includes references thank fuck. Remember you have no idea how to cite APA-style. Curse the APA. Magically get idea for what you're actually going to write and immediately get intense headache that demands you go to bed immediately because being able to focus on a computer screen is overrated and unnecessary when you're on a deadline. 

 

49 hours and 41 minutes til this is due. Should be fun.

 

(edit: and as I post this again I realize I'm really not stressed about the paper itself as much as I am frustrated and upset that I've gotten to this point and not done anything. Here I am thinking my anxiety is finally starting to get under control and lol nope. Gonna be so grumpy discussing this with my therapist on Thursday.)

For my next trick, watch as a pad a paper by saying "gender and sexual minority individuals" instead of some variation of "LGBTQ+." 

 

Also I wrote a whole page last night. It's essentially word vomit but a good enough chunk of it is usable. Proving once again that if I sit the fuck down and do something I can get it done quickly. 

 

So I'm already 10% done with this paper. Which is fantastic because I really need to go to bed early tonight despite the paper. I have an appointment at student health at 8:20 tomorrow so I have to leave home at 7.  Then just hang out at a Starbucks til therapy at 11. Between lack of sleep the past few nights and that schedule tomorrow I am not going to be able to write until it's due at midnight. And I have a work event Friday morning that will require getting up early, and a Christmas party Friday night. (Which at this point I'll probably just make a brief appearance at and then leave.)

Haha not that either. Fanfic usually shows up on my most visited sites or whatever the fuck it's called on the new tab page, but titles aren't usually explicit so it's all good.

 

I don't just read the porny ones. I'm also guilty of reading tooth-rotting fluff from time to time.

I almost started watching it bc an actress currently on Supergirl was on it for a while and I like her. But then I realized I don't have time to watch a series that long.

Jesus fuck. I cannot focus at work. I have phone calls to make that I don't want to make. (Honestly, "come to our conference that's on Monday!" ?! Most people, if they actually pick up the phone, are like "uh that's kinda short notice?") And this paper. Ugh. I feel really sick today (not because of the paper or nerves but the ear infection is acting up and the lack of sleep over the past few days is making me fuzzy). I don't want to do any of this and I don't want to be at work right now.

Said fuck it at work and ignored the phone calls I was supposed to make (well I made two, but one went to voice mail and the other to an assistant who wouldn't take a message and told me just to resend the email I was following up on, so fuck that) and worked on my paper for half an hour. Sort of half-assed an outline (I've never been able to write a proper one; they're either too detailed or just one-word ideas) and suddenly I'm on page 4 of 12-15. Once again the issue will be sitting down and forcing myself to read some articles and write the damn thing. But I think I'll be okay. I might try to get it half done tonight. Hoping to get to bed between 9:30-10 tonight because otherwise life is going to suck tomorrow. And of course I find out today I have to be to work early on Friday for an event. Whyyyy.

Went to bed at 11. Am on page 7 of 12 but it's not necessarily all content I'm keeping. Got maybe 5 hours of sleep because I kept waking up. Cannot wait til I get to sleep tomorrow night.

I don't use incognito for much but it saved me in class this time so I'm not going to complain lol.
