Haha that's a valid reason. And you just reminded me why I do use incognito: I hate clearing my history because then it stops telling me which sites I've visited already or what fanfics I've read. And I forget you can delete individual items in your history. 

 

Is it sad that I just had to sit here and think about why I use incognito when no one else uses my computer? (Except this one class because wtf.)

To be fair, I use incognito on my phone. I have a fear that my phone history and my Google history on my work computer are going to sync and my work might see what I look at on my phone.

Crap. Woke up tired, got better as the day went on, now that I'm headed home from therapy and have time to sit and breathe the tiredness is setting in. This does not bode well. (On the other hand, we were discussing my paper, which is on queer mental health, and my therapist may not know exactly what my prof is looking for with this paper but she thought what I'm writing about is pretty cool. So yay.)

Oh. That's cute. Roommate's friend just left the house, snapped the key in the deadbolt, and just went on her way. Called roommate about it, but still. What the actual fuck?

Still no desire to do this, but hey I've got 8 pages of actual content (out of 12-15) plus another 3 of ideas/outline/notes. I may actually succeed at this. 

 

Supernatural is on in just under two hours. If I can get to 10 full pages of content I'm going to take a break to watch it and then still have 2 hours to finish the paper. Cross your fingers!

 

eta: apologies if there's anyone following me who wasn't around at the end of last semester. You should have been warned that when I have assignments due I tend to post every thirty seconds with complaints, panic, or some variation of "i wrote another page and it only took me two hours yay!"

9 pages of content, including rewriting some of my notes and such. Of course what's left now is to go back and include the research part, so uh, yeah. Whoops. Decided not to watch Supernatural anyway because it was written by the shittiest writers on the show and it's therefore not worth the distraction right now. 

 

Roommate went to her boyfriend's. Her friend is still out doing whatever she's doing so I'm going to have to let her in when she gets back. It better be before I go to bed.

She called my roommate. Didn't have my number but yeah she could have come back in or something and told me. But eh. I already told my roommate I'd be up til midnight anyway. 11:52. I really hope I managed to delete all the notes I left myself. At the very least I know I didn't forget any citations because we had to use APA, which I literally have not used since a Psych class in 2007, so I had to look up how to do it every. fucking. time. 

 

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to drag my sorry ass to bed because I have to be to work half an hour early tomorrow so I need every minute of the 6 hours I can get tonight. Relatedly, roommate's friend is not coming home tonight so I don't have to deal with that.

I'm exhausted. And I sincerely don't want to be going to work right now. Literally all of my team except my supervisor and VP are gone. I have one assignment that I need to finish up but otherwise it's going to be hours of me sitting and staring at my computer wishing I were in bed. And probably alternately talking myself in and out of going to my friend's Christmas party tonight. I want to go but it's in the opposite direction of my house and if I go home first I know I won't be leaving. 

 

Fuck me. I forgot my damn lunch.

Hahahaha not only did I get to work half an hour early just to sit around for that half hour, I literally JUST got my period. I knew it was coming obv but it magically appeared in the last hour and I noticed on my way out of work and hey guess who doesn't have Advil with her. Wheeee.

Well I survived the event. I need more coffee though. I'll make an appearance at the work party tonight to grab some free food and then head to my friend's. I already asked him what I should bring so I'm stuck going now. I may have done that on purpose. I'm not wearing any of my festive shit but eh. The world will keep turning. 

 

There was an actual point to this post beyond that but idk what it was anymore. Between being tired and it being cold out now my brain has been offline for hours. 

 

Oh right. There's also the fact that I feel sick as hell today. I'm going I spend the next week sleeping and drinking orange juice and hope I wake up healthy one day. Ugh.

And hey in other news, it's a good thing I'm open about my sexuality. Since it's everyone's last day the other interns are just sitting around talking about random shit. I'm 90% sure I posted here about the girl I was talking to on election night and when I mentioned being queer she yelled "I didn't know you were a lesbian!!" So anyway they're all talking about dating and such and when I took my headphones out to somewhere she goes "hey you have a girlfriend don't you?" I'm not personally upset but I'm vaguely mad in general because that's not a thing you do to people.

This is interesting to me. Like, unless I was specifically told that you weren't really open about your sexuality, I would totally do something similar, but with no malice intended. Just because I don't care who you are attracted to (for the most part, if you are attracted to like... beta fish, I might judge a bit).

More context that I should have added but am too sleepy to brain: the other girls didn't know I'm queer. So she just outed me. Which is not an okay thing. You never know what the circumstances are. Like maybe one of the other girls was a homophobic dick. Or I'm pretty sure DC prohibits employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation but what if I weren't out for the sake of keeping my job? You just don't do it. In this context I don't really care that people know (I've been wearing my pride bracelet since the election but idk if anyone has noticed or knows what it is) but at least two of the other girls had looks on their faces like "what the fuck are you doing?"

Starting your day off right:

 

Get a phone call from my mother. "I don't want to worry you, but I've been in the hospital since Thursday with blood clots in both my legs and both my lungs." She said she'll be fine and repeatedly said it worry but uhhhh yeah. Ugh. She's going to call later bc she needs me to pay her bills online since my father is useless with computers, so I'll ask if I should go home and she'll probably tell me no. Said she's on medication to dissolve them, will be in the hospital til Tuesday. I feel like maybe I should go home but also I don't know if it would stress her out more if I were there bc ofc before she told me she asked about my finals and stuff and I told her I have a paper due Monday night. Bleh. 

 

I want to assume everything's going to be okay like she said and I don't want to overreact and make it worse by freaking out and going home but at the same time I'm afraid of underreacting?
