Got today's half pistol squats done with EC, learned my right leg is a little less stable than my left. Curious.

...balance... balance... BALANCE DAMN YOU!

Done half pistols with EC. Last night I took a hard hit to my right ankle, so I'm really glad my foot could be flat on the floor.  Given how weak it is this morning, I hope I won't have to add it to my (growing) list of injuries.

And my right ankle is also less stable, which makes sense for any right handed person.  Right handed means left footed (I think...)

Current Big Fat Hairy Goals:  Hip to Waist Ratio down to 88%.  Capable of 50 pushups, 100 situps, 20 pull-ups in one massive superset.  Able to do a bodyweight bench press.  Run 10K 1/week for 1 month.  Earn 2nd Degree Black Belt.

Why?  Because I want to model the kind of health and strength that I want my girls to have when they grow up.

Really? Might explain my uneven stability, too.

My wife (Master in Neuropsych, PhD in Clinical Psych) just clarified - when you're right handed, you use your left hand to hold things, and your right hand to manipulate them.  Laterality carries to feet, which means you use your left foot to stabilize, and your right foot to manipulate.  When you're using your right leg to stabilize, it's less stable.

Good to know! I always thought my right foot should be more stable since I'm right handed... Explains why today I was spread out all over the place trying to keep my balance for my right footed half pistols, whilst I was able to do the ones on the left with next to no fuss!

When I started to work on shrimp squats I tried to keep this present, so I would work and focus more on my troubling leg for stabilizing, the left one in my case. Now I can do perfect shrimp squats with my left leg and my right leg has become the dumb one *sighs in despair*

Fascinating. I'm going to be thinking about this every time I balance now.

Good job. Just so someone says it - please do not hurt yourself to do any of these exercises!

I continue to be in awe of your shrimp squats! I still just plop to the floor on both sides. :P

Done with EC! I couldn't get very far down with the squats...not sure if it's a mobility thing, a balance thing, or a strength thing.

I have serious problems with pistol squats anyway, so I was super grateful these were only half squats! In the darebee video he hardly goes down at all it seems...

Done with EC, first thing this morning too.  60 second time limit makes it seem entirely doable.

I noticed my forearms are sore from my 4-week challenge (probably the pushups and pullups), and my shoulders are sore, probably from the 400 air punches.

The neatest thing for me is I've never done an inverted plank.  I was surprised that just like for a regular plank, when you're sinking, you still tighten abs and glutes.  I guess I figured that there would be more difference in the muscles engaged.

Reverse plank done with extra credit. Felt like I could've gone another minute on today's one - (I'm all abs and legs, wait until you hear me crying on another upper body one :) )

Yeah, they're a really interesting movement! It's not a position you naturally find yourself in very often. I feel like they give you a nice shoulder stretch too.
