The dead hangs were my weakest. I really need to do those more often. I would think they would be pull exercises because they are using similar muscles/actions, but maybe they should be assisted because not all of the bodyweight is being pulled up? The full name is the armstrong pullup program. It's a pull up program big with the military/police types. It's based in 4 different activities over 5 days a week. I would think it would only count as assistance because not everyone has access to barbells to do stuff like bent over row either. If someone only had access to a pull-up bar and nothing else then they would be at a disadvantage for working any assistance exercises. And you could log it based off meters if you did track it. Like every 500m was worth 2 points or whatever the amount of points for assistance type workouts would be. Difficulty level can't be tracked, but rowing 500m at an easy pace is still good work and there are pulling mechanism's involved with the whole thing. But, again, consensus/majority rules. If we don't want to count Row machine, it's not going to hurt my feelings. What about deadlift? If someone only had access to a pull-up bar and nothing else then they would be at a disadvantage for working any assistance exercises. And you could log it based off meters if you did track it. Like every 500m was worth 2 points or whatever the amount of points for assistance type workouts would be. Difficulty level can't be tracked, but rowing 500m at an easy pace is still good work and there are pulling mechanism's involved with the whole thing. I'm happy to take the majority group decision on most of the questions on adding exercises. Dragon holds, I'd put as accessory. Rower, hmm. I'm leaning towards not including it more for the complexity of logging than anything. Deadlifts. I went back and forth on including this and left it off to keep the challenge more about 'typical' pull up exercises. But I'm happy for a group decision on this.
