I did good tracking for the first part of the week, and then it all went out the window Thursday night. Because I took the family on a somewhat spur of the moment trip to northern California to spend 2 days hiking around redwoods. And, since there was no camping available ( ? ) we crashed with my in-laws. Where I didn't really have much choice for what food was available, and had absolutely zero idea how to even guess at what would be a good tracking analogue for the stuff they cooked. I could have tracked what I ate while we were hiking, but that seemed like too much work. But, we did hike 6 miles on Friday and 3 on Saturday, so I think it evened out? I am fairly certain I ate less than I used. Also on Friday, I got the official offer for the new job I interviewed for and have been "in process" for getting the offer for a few weeks. Wasn't able to accept it until today, because the computer system was weird, but I now have about two and a half months to get my family to Ohio. So, things are definitely about to get super crazy. I need to start making a list of things that need to happen, or I'm going to go nuts. Since I didn't really track my food for the second half of the week, and what I did track was consistently 200 calories or so above my goal, I was not expecting good things come weigh-in today. Especially since I ate a lot of things that don't especially agree with my stomach and am feeling super bloated. But, to my surprise, I was slightly down from where I was last week on the scale (0.1 lb, but that's still down!), and a whole inch down around my waist! Which I guess is undoing the whole inch jump up from last week? I don't entirely know what's going on with my body. I didn't believe it, so I measured twice, and it stayed the same. So, maybe it would actually be slightly smaller were I not bloated? Either way, at the end of the challenge I am down 1.9 lbs and half an inch off my waist. Also, looking at the weights over time in MFP, it does look like I am very slowly trending down, despite all the bumps back up. The trend line would be almost flat, but still slightly down, so, woo! I think I'm going to sit out the next one of these, because I will have enough to think about with the move. But I deffo hit the 10lb/5kg target so yayyyy! I also lost 2.5 inches off my waist and 1 inch from my hips which feels like a huge accomplishment. Just looking at the "food plan" I will definetly be cutting back calories. So will 100% be here just to help with stamina, as I learn the "feed body medicine as food". I joined super late but I just want to record that I got down from 75kg (165 lbs) to 73 (161) early in January just by making my meals a little more modest. Calorie counting has taken me to just under 71 (156) in the last three weeks, which is faster than expected but not too fast. I shall join for the next challenge and hopefully get down to 66/146. Anything under about 69/152 would put me in the normal weight/BMI range, which is a good start. Then I can decide how comfy I feel there and if I want to lose more or not. I definitely shouldn't be as thin as I used to be. I was 50kg in early adulthood. If my calculations are correct, that's how much LBM I have now. Praise the deadlifts ? But I've never been comfortably lean/slim with my current amount of muscle. Let that slip as the stress monster grew over the last few weeks of the challenge, but still pleased overall with my progress.
