I had the same issue before, where my tendons in my elbows or shoulders would bother me, so I had to slow down. Now I am able to do a lot more before they squawk. I did my pull ups in the evening instead of the usual morning time because I just got off my flight home. Got 45 in. *Edit did 20 more because I have all this energy from traveling. I like band assisted pull ups, but I think it does get to a point where you rely on the bands too much. There are other assistance methods you can try, like chair assisted. That might bridge that gap between the bands and normal pull ups as you can vary the amount of assistance you give yourself with your feet. You could try jumping pull ups too. Spoiler: I was weak as shit and called everything early. Did just 3 sets of pull ups, 9,9,4 - yeah I tapped out hard fast. Then did a set of DB rows, and a set of BB Rows for another 2 sets total of 8 reps each. So, 66 on the pull ups, 32 on the rows for 98 total. Bleh.
