Adventurer’s Wanted: A West-Marches Campaign

Travel into the Hills/Explore for Tunnels

Tuesday: no time to do an outdoor walk, but I did climb the stairs at work. Things I noticed: several candy wrappers between floors 5 and 10 (what are people doing dropping candy wrappers in the limited access stairs?), a square of carpet at floor 22, and a chunk of wood (door stopper?) at floor 23.

Adventuring Limerick #2! I'm having way too much fun with this.

Though my courage is usually firm

This encounter is making me squirm.

To spiders I'm averse

But it could be much worse,

Please don't force me to fight a silk Wyrm.

It did occur to me that's not the kind of thought you want to put in a DM's head, but I was too proud of it not to share. Pride goeth before a TPK!

This is branching out enough that I'm not sure how to organize the spreadsheet for this week, but @DarK_RaideR and @Sovalis if you have any requests for formulas that would make things easier for you, I'm happy to make it happen.

I know I'm completely muzzy-headed today, but what exactly am I tracking again?
I am in the tunnels exploration and trail-walking herb gathering clan. :)

Edited:
OH RIGHT!
so yes, I got 10 minutes of "extra" walking / exploring done again today. :)

Heidi wanders along the path toward the forest and away from the glen. The way has inclines, in places, and she is glad of the exercises durign herb-gathering; she can tell that her lower back is much more suited to the varied terrain now than it would have been last week. Good work is always a blessing. The way around her is less civilized, and she notices a beautiful strand of wild Morning Glory vining its way above the remnants of a collection of stones, something that might have been a cookspace or a cairn or the low wall of a small building long ago. She fetches out the silver dagger and collects one of the blooms, admiring the way the color shoots from white to fucshia to a deep purple-blue. She doubts it will survive even an hour, but Ellereth might be as interested in the wild flora as the herbs, and Heidi knows this is the simplest way to remind herself to mention it. A bit farther on, she sees an incongrous bunch of cut dahlias on what is clearly a compost heap. This seems an odd bit of deliberation and domestication, and she leaves the dahlias where they are, possibly a courting gift from one creature to another.

I added a drop-down based on our group, and a drop-down choice for the job board.

I have no idea how we want to tally these things, yet. :)

Oooh, so nicely done! I started a bit of tallying based on your dropdowns, but I don't know if that's how we want to keep it or  not.

Bold of you to assume we have a plan...

By which I mean we absolutely do (or am I bluffing?).

Seriously though, some numbers will affect story progress or reward items. Some others are mostly just for fluff, or the story will progress either way as long as you do at least the bare minimum or a single attempt. Thing is, we won't tell you which is which. So tally up as much information as you can and we'll filter out what we need for our future moves.

Grewynn occasionally enjoys cooking festive foods, but as a practical minded elf, she has some basic go- to's  she cooks for sustenance that keeps her fed during the week.

Salsa chicken in Instapot: Several chicken thighs (2 ish pounds) 1 cup of salsa, 1 /4 cup orange juice ( she used the  oj because she had it. it's not a necessary ingredient)  thighs were from Costco and still frozen so she cooked for about 25 minutes

Rice in Instant pot  : 3 cups basmati rice, 3 cups broth, 1Tablespoon oil, dash of salt.  Set for Rice setting- 14 minutes. I like putting the oil in because I find that   the rice holds up better when reheating

You are definitely tempting me to get an Instapot!

These dishes sound delicious and also easy, and what’s not to love about that?

Totally fair. Thanks to @Heidi's dropdowns, I managed to get some tallying up and running. The real treasure was the spreadsheet we made along the way!

No extra walking yet today.

Head is wrecked from the storm fronts that are battling it out in my area, but perhaps I'll get a little walk in after work.

Heidi rests for a minute on the side of the trail. She recalls seeing a Peace Pole and can't remember if it was a dream or if she actually passed it.

Perhaps meditation will help clear her mind.

Yes! I’ve been training for this! Down dog is still far from a restful pose but I got a good flow following the video and I may do another set without guidance today or tomorrow.

“Folks, it looks like this is a pretty well-used campsite,” Radost calls back over her shoulder. “Or else the people using it left in a big hurry!” More likely the former, she thinks, since the stone-lined fire pit and melodic hangings imply long occupancy. She stretches up on tiptoe to spin one of the lower-hanging mobiles. After examining how the chimes are constructed, she bends low to look at the cooking vessels. “I’ve seen some like this before somewhere, but I can’t quite place it. Smells like they cooked up something delicious, though!”

As she followed the path, Rezka couldn't help but notice little signs of previous travelers, small bits of debris from worn harnesses and carts.

Wednesday: not particularly exciting, but I did do the elliptical at the gym and because of this adventure, I paid more attention to the sunset and weather outside.

The sky was cloudy, but as the sun began to set, a few golden streaks appeared in the distance. Rezka watched as the sky faded from dark blue and purple to nearly black and the strong wind gusts made the nearby trees sway.

Thursday: didn't think anything was going to fit in my schedule today, but coworkers wanted to walk to the farmers' market, so I tagged along.

Rezka spotted a discarded flask in a small depression in the ground. There were some unusual stone columns off to the side of the path. And gazing off into the distance, she could see distant hills beyond the nearby ones.
