Heidi rests from the morning's walking and gathering and consults her notebook of random knowledge. She finds a random tidbit about how to modify squats for those with knee issues. She widens her stance and collects five more herbs, then settles in to do research and writing, sipping tea. The Universe loves us and wants us to be happy and strong, she thinks to herself.

An excellent and often under-stated point. Something I have been repeating to myself rather frequently (adapted from a piece of writing advice on a blog I follow) is that I can do anything, but I cannot do everything.

 

Shava ducks as some bisected spider legs fly overhead and looks back at Ursina whirling through the spiders with her flashing blade. "I'm glad you're on our side, Friend." She scrambles over to another group of parcels, still not sure what she's looking at. "Can anyone tell what's in these things?" she calls.

 

Another 3 sets of good mornings done during yesterday's warm ups! Unweighted, this time. Slowing it down a bit today, will aim to get 1 set done this evening.

Ursina beams at Shava and sings “ you’ve got a friend in meee!” As she cuts down three more spiders.  She looks mournfully at the bits of spider in her fur and sighs.

Did not follow directions and went with a "like" reaction because honestly I'm not sure how I feel about AI art. I'm not sure how it works with images, I know there are concerns that LLMs scrape prose they don't have a license for, which is an area of copyright law that hasn't been hammered out yet because it's only recently become an issue. So I'm a little iffy on it, but I'm not going to pitch a fit over it being used for noncommercial purposes, and if you've looked into it and are good with it, I trust your judgement.

I’ve been thinking about @Jarric all on his lonesome doing translations things, and wishing him well as I watch shows in their original language but with English subtitles. Translation work is some serious badassery.

Rezka continues harvesting the colorful herbs, working a little later into the evening to build up a little extra stock, still being careful to not over harvest any one area.

Was having a hard time falling asleep last night, so I made tea and did five more squat holds while the kettle warmed. 15 total for yesterday.

Heidi wanders through the moonlit glen, finding new varieties of flowers that hadn't been as visible in the day, adding five more to her pack, then sets the dagger in its sheath and closes up the bundle. It's been a good day.

Thank you! I also find, if you know the language but aren't super proficient, it's quite good to watch the show with subtitles in the original language. Something about being able to see the words at the same time as hearing them makes it easier to follow.

It's a slow start, but Guglug grins a toothy grin as parts of the map start coming together. Satisfied that he's finished in one area, he moves to the next, carefully cross referencing his translations, and Niko's, with the terrain features of the map.

 

I didn't see this in time to start working on it on Monday, but got mini painting done Tuesday and Wednesday, so 2 hexes down. I've also finished a wizard mini (admittedly I'm a little behind) and put a base coat on a little gnome figure.

After comparing notes with Heidi on the herbs she found by moonlight, Rezka decides she'll give night harvesting a try as well. Even in the dim light, she is able to harvest 20 plants before the moon sets and she has to stop to admire the stars covering the entire sky.

I think the minis are wonderful!

Way to go @Jarric and @Sovalis! I love the serendipitous use of light blue -- it almost seems as though the dragon and the wizard might be teammates in a party and not opponents (a low-level Philosopher-Librarian can dream). 

I am definitely looking forward to when my greying hair goes ocmpletely white and resembles the wizard's gorgeous mane. Also love that our Wizard is traipsing through the grasses, as we herb-gatherers are.

 

I felt like garbage starting yesterday afternoon, and slept, and still felt wonky this morning, so no gym.

But I did five squat holds while unloading and loading the dishwasher this morning while I was trying to get my head on straight for the day's necessary tasks, and this is good.

I have tea, and the morning is happening as mornings do.

Slowing down a bit on the back half of this week, no good mornings done the last two days. Back to the gym today, though, so will make sure to slip at least one set in.

 

Shava paused, stretching her back after hunching over the mystery parcels. Was this really accomplishing anything? Perhaps she could slice one open and finally get a good look at whatever was inside. She saw Radost scouting ahead, creeping low on the ground, and Ursina continuing to hold back the wave of spiders. Maybe she would examine just one more parcel before doing anything rash.

Radost steps towards a bundle, as though to examine it, but it ripples suddenly and she recoils. “I’ll just…I’ll…you can…”  Her face compresses with distaste  as she edges past the now quiescent bundle and looks deeper into the forest. “Wait, is there something over there?” She begins to clamber between the thick web strands, attempting to ease past the big spider. One of the smaller spiders skitters a little too close and she feints at it. The spider shies away and back up into the trees and Radost ducks carefully under another sticky cord. 
 

Did a couple rounds of 20 mountain climbers yesterday evening and plan to do the same today. I also tried out the katana exercises but I’m putting my official action into exploration this week. 
 

ETA: did some climbers! Could only manage sets of 10 today but after a long workday I’m calling that Just Fine. 
 

ETA2: oh, I almost doubled my average step count due to walking along with some students for our Terry Fox Run today. No wonder I’m wiped. It’s only a modest amount more than most long workdays (which include a 2km walk and 100% increase in bike time) but still.

At first, the warrior struggled with all the herb gathering. It's not exactly his thing and what's worse, he could bear the hiking but not the squatting and bending in his armor. After a while though, he seems to have a mental switch. Almost as if rehearsing combat scenarios and maneuvers in his head, he begins to move around with much more grace, his moves seeming to flow from one another as he picks up the herbs and tosses them into his pouch.

 

So I had a few super busy days and fell behind. Caught up today doing three sets of 10s. Then while I was at it, now that finally the weather seems to have cooled down a bit, carried on to do a full on workout circuit like I used to do before the summer 3 month long heatwave.
