Did a metcon last night instead of some barbell work. Just haven't really been feeling spending hours in the gym this summer.

 

3 rounds for time

Renegade rows x12 (12 pushups, 6 rows each side)

Lateral band walks x12 each side

SLDL x12 each side

Walking Lunge w/ Twist x12 each side

 

I used 20# dumbbells for everything except band walks. Finished in 21:56.

 

i like this. might steal it and apply to my cardio goal. :D

Swapping my squat day and deadlift day because I have a ripped callous which would be painful to deadlift with.

And skipping core because my core is trashed from gymnastics yesterday. So I technically met the intent....

6 weeks with a 7th deload week. Upping tm every 3rd week. Weeks 4-6 are essentially a repeat of 1-3.

My first attempt at programming let's give it a shot!

Welp.

 

Since challenges haven't been working so great for me recently. Let's do things here for now.

 

 

I am training for a GO RUCK on September 30th in Phoenix with some other nerds. Based on that my training has been primarily cardio based bodyweight movements. Like, boot camp style. Also, running.

 

Not focusing on nutrition much at all. Trying to reduce stress and improve sleep, as always. Still trying to rehab my hips/back.

 

 

Last night was gymnastics where I did:

Bars: back and front hip circles, focusing on form

Floor: front tumbling: front tucks and front handspring to 2 feet

handstand practice

conditioning: abs, glutes

I ran for 20 minutes straight yesterday without stopping to walk (I stopped to tie my shoe once).

Roughly 1.5 miles. The longest distance and time I've ever ran in my life.

More running things and lifting things (like 2 times).

I've been doing some beachbody DVD at home workouts. You basically do the same lift for a minute straight and AMRAP at a light weight. It's quick and gets it done for now.

 

25 minute run today.

Been keeping up with the running... today should be 28 minutes worth. On Tuesday I decided to forego the program and just see how fast it takes me to do 1 mile. The answer is 11:20.

 

Went to gymnastics Monday for the first time since 8/21 (Labor Day and then missed the previous week due to being exhausted from comic con). Holy crap I am sore everywhere. Note to self, don't miss 2 weeks in a row ever again.

 

Went for a 1.5 hour long ruck with @Haikoo on Saturday in a local nature park. We saw lots of cool plants and a bubbling spring. Check my insta for photos.

 

Keeping up with doing some beachbody weightlifting at home using lighter dumbbells. I'm not loving the muscular endurance portion, but I feel really good after and I'm dripping in sweat. I also am liking them because they are shorter in length than me going to the gym (max has been about 45 minutes) which is really all I can handle right about now. I think I might stick with these through the end of the year, but we'll see.

 

My hips/back have been feeling really great. Sometimes they've been getting knocked out of alignment. Particularly after gymnastics, etc. But aside from that my range of motion and strength are doing really great.

 

Also, this week I was #onpoint with eating breakfasts, which was an area I was slacking in.

 

 

Thinking about joining up with a challenge again this round because I think I can use the accountability again, but I think it might be a ranger one due to the nature of my activities at this moment.

rucking, yay! any pointers on bag use? did you just use whatever backpack you have around? The next progression in my hiking might be rucking because there aren't a lot of long trails close by and i'm not into spending 3 hours every time I want to burn calories hiking, sometimes I might just want to hike but with added weight for increase difficulty. ;)

I was just waiting for you to stumble upon this ;)

 

Should have written up  the mini this weekend. Didn't.

Instead I did 2 workouts, cleaned my entire apartment (all that is left is to sweep and mop the kitchen and bathroom floors, which J is doing today) and start and nearly finish a book.

Tonight is gymnastics and then I'll try to get up the mini. And maybe poke around some peoples challenges if I get time.

I did a thing last week and ordered a couple of books to start building myself a little library.  They should arrive tomorrow!  They are industry related, so very unlikely I can read them in a single weekend - or ever. :lol:
